Awesome computer!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I bought this computer to use for college and it is perfect. It is fast, the battery lasts for a while, and is light as air. The speakers are great. The only bummer is you have to buy a separate plug in for flash drives and other things, but it is not a dealbreaker. Overall an excellent computer!

Good Mac Except the Fan + Fingerprint scanner
|Posted .Early this year, I brought it in my local Best Buy store. I used their Price Match program and got a great deal. Thanks Best Buy. They had the grey version in stock. That's fine because I covered it with a unique Macbook skin. The cooling fan cause problem when editing video. It produces noise. The fingerprint scanner is awful. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't recognize my fingerprints. You will be wasting your time using this security feature. I disabled it because it is unreliable. It is faster to key in your password. I upgraded to MacBook Air from a Macbook 12. I upgraded it even though the MacBook 12 retina display is better than the MacBook Air. Plus the MacBook 12 is more portable than the MacBook Air. However, the new MacBook Air has 2 USB-C ports. It helps.

Not impressed
|Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Features
Quality2 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I had keyboard issues from day one. I had keys that would hit 3 times or not at all. This computer spends a LOT of time thinking. That spinning beachball never stops- and listen, I’m a school counselor. I’m not editing movies and music over here. I’m doing spreadsheets and word documents and this thing couldn’t even handle that. I traded it in for the base model MacBook Pro and it’s a night and day difference. Go Pro. Just trust me. This couldn’t handle the most simple tasks.

Great laptop
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Very lightweight and portable laptop. It’s fast and runs all of my school related tasks smoothly, as expected. The only thing I dislike about this laptop is the gold color is a fingerprint magnet. Also, the screen itself is difficult to clean and it picks up keyboard imprint marks very easily.

Q: Questionwhy is this so much better then the old mackbook air
Asked by niya.
- A:Answer In my opinion it is better than the previous MacBook Air, it is lighter and seems to be faster. I bought mine to replace a 2013 MacBook Pro Retina and so far I am very happy with it.

Q: QuestionHello. I would like to buy this laptop. So I have 60 movies, 242 songs and 2 music videos on iTunes. Will this MacBook be able to hold all of these items?
Asked by Kath.
This question was asked about the related product: Apple - MacBook Air - 13.3" Retina Display - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 256GB Flash Storage - Silver- A:Answer Yes, I would suggest getting the 512GB or 1TB SSD. But, that route is very expensive so you might want to go 256GB and purchase a external drive to store you movies and songs on. It's up to you the path you want to take.

Q: QuestionI will be going into college this fall and I am wondering if the new MacBook Air with 8gbt of RAM and 250 memory will be good enough for music production and college assignments, or would the MacBook Pro be a better option?
Asked by HunterV.
- A:Answer I use it for school and work. Depending on the necessities of music production it should be OK. I would go for the Pro for more gpu needed force (for like video editing and rendering). But the new late 2018 model should suffice, just be warned about the only two ports it has (two usb-c) and one headphone jack on the other side. I love it. It’s quick and the battery life is really good on this model. I’ve had the previous 2 air models for comparison.

Q: QuestionStill looking for clarification please. Apple Store sells newest MacBook Air Retina Display and community answers here say Best Buy sells the same model. Why does the Apple description says its turbo charged? Posters here say the BB model is not.
Asked by LucysMom.
- A:Answer You can’t turbo charge a computer. It is the same model Apple sells. They’re using the words “turbo charged” to indicate its fast. And it is. Look at the model numbers at both Apple and Best Buy. You’ll see they’re the same.
