Can it support programs for college? (Physic major) null

Mine supports my Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and some other software that I have as well. I think your best best is to have someone at the Apple Store set up the latest OS that your hard drive can handle, (in my case Mac OS High Sierra), then go from there. Try not to run too many apps at once as well-- (that's with any PC or Mac.) I hope I was of some help!
