• If you mean the 7th generation that was just introduced in 2019, that ipad will only take the 1st gen apple pencil

• Hey, This first gen Pencil is compatible with the new iPad 10.2 inch( 7th generation). The second generation Pencil is nice but it’s only compatible with the iPad Pro 11 and 12.9 inch models.
