• Depends what case, if it has a hole/area for the pencil then yes it charges

• Your case should have a cutout where the pencil can connect to charge. If not then yes you’ll probably have to take the case off. Look over your case to see if there’s a cutout on the side where the pencil magnetically attaches to charge.
