• Yes, your child would be able to use this as a solely Wi-Fi capable device to send iMessages so long as he or she is sending those iMessages to other iPhone or iPad users. You will not need a Sim card to set this phone up unless you want to use it to make phone calls and access cellular data when the phone is not connected to its home Wi-Fi network.
