“Does the keyboard lie flat when attached to the iPad in upright position? I've read complaints about how the keyboard part lifts up from the flat surface about 1/4" so it makes for an error-prone typing experience. Has this issue since been fixed?”

I have two of these keyboards, one on the 10.5 and one on the 12.9. Haven’t seen this issue.

No it hasn’t been fixed. I bought one today and it’s messed up too

It is supposed to lay flat. My first one had the issue of popping up but it is a manufacturing defect. I immediately took it back to BB for a replacement and my second one lays flat.

The case on mine does come up a little when the keyboard is being used. At first it bothered me, but I'm not a conventional typist so I adjusted to it.

Yes, mine does, but it's not a big deal. Doesn't interfere with typing at all. Stick a few dozen post-it notes under it behind the iPad and it will sit straight. I'm thinking in time it will loosen up and sit straight but like I said, not a deal breaker for me.
