• No, you do not need an iPhone or any other Apple device in order to use an Apple TV. It is fully functional without it. There are just some bonus integration features that are possible if you have an iPhone or other Apple device.

• No, you don't have to have an iPhone or any other Apple products to use the Apple TV. There are just some integration features you'll miss out if you don't have an iPhone, such as using it in place of the remote or AirPlay. But the device is still fully functional without an iPhone.
