Yeah, if you’re buying an AppleTV box your tv doesn’t need to be “smart”, it just needs an hdmi port. “Smart” features in TVs are really just gimmicks to pad bullet point lists anyway. Works better to pick a tv that works well as a tv, and add a good streaming device like AppleTV to it.

And then you install the provider apps on it and stream from inside of the apps. For instance Sling TV works with the Apple TV and they have a app that basically turns the apple tv on a set up box with lot more horse power and functionality
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Get a Firestick and download the AppleTV app. I recommend not buying smart TVs because the software gets outdated long before the TV. Is is not worth the extra money. A Firestick will do everything you want and even controls the TV power and volume on on remote.
