“If I don't have a smart TV, can the Apple TV connect to any app for viewing?”

• I believe so. We have a Smart TV but we never use the App feature on it anymore. We select everything through the Apple TV. It is so much easier and more reliable.

• You can use any compatible app that's the tvOS App Store. That may include some that also appear in the iOS App Store. It doesn't matter if it's connected to a smart TV r not.
