Netflix requires a monthly subscription. apple tv does not, you can purchase movies and television shows a la carte through your itunes account. movie prices range from $0.99, $1.99 and $4.99 for new release in HD. perhaps a better option for replacing directv/cable to watch network television is a device with hulu plus interface. this has a monthly subscription as well, but much less expensive and no commercials ... I think
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. The AppleTV does enable Netflix streaming which does require a Netflix subscription to use this feature. The AppleTV itself does not require a subscription.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Specifically for the device itself, no. You pay nothing to stream already acquired content on your computer to Apple TV. Also, the built- in application YouTube requires no paid subscription. Hulu and Netflix are subscription based but there is also some free content on Hulu.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, but you can only rent movies from itunes and play your itunes library through it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No monthly subscription is required. You pay for each movie as you watch them through your iTunes account.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, unless you subscribe to Netflix or any other options that you choose to add-on. I only have a Netflix subscription (I had one already anyways), so there was no additional cost for me. I love my Apple TV.
