- Answer Nope. Apple Tv uses wireless N technology. As long as you have a router you are ready to go.

- Answer You won't need help with an install. It's VERY easy to set-up. Plug in the power cord, HDMI cable to your TV/receiver and that's all. If you have wireless at home, you can set it up for that or just plug an ethernet cord into it. Very easy.

- Answer The first generation Apple TV had internal storage that could be used to store your media library. the current generation (the little black one) does not. it simply connects to the library you have on your mac or pc and allows you to play that media on your home theater system.

- Answer Netflix requires a monthly subscription. apple tv does not, you can purchase movies and television shows a la carte through your itunes account. movie prices range from $0.99, $1.99 and $4.99 for new release in HD. perhaps a better option for replacing directv/cable to watch network television is a device with hulu plus interface. this has a monthly subscription as well, but much less expensive and no commercials ... I think

- Answer You do not have to have a computer to watch Apple TV, however you must have an internet connection, a wireless modem and router for the system to work. All set up and interaction can occur on your TV screen.

- Answer Only up to the limitations of the applications built into it (currently Netflix, Flicker, Youtube, MLB, NBA, mobile me). But that doesn't mean something wouldn't be added to the operating system sometime in a future update!

QuestionDoes Apple TV stream pictures and iTunes from Windows 7 over home network?Can the pictures reside in folders/sub-folders in the Win 7 "Pictures" library or do they have to be imported first into iTunes? Is there any chopiness of iTunes music via cat-5 network? Is functionality of Apple TV equal between the Mac and PC (Win 7) platforms? Thanks!

- Answer The remote is a very small, pack of 5 stick gum. It has about 4 or so buttons on it. However, if you have an iPhone, or iPad, you can download the free Remote app, and it syncs very easily and you can use that instead. That's what I prefer. You just need to be sure the iphone/ipad and the Apple TV are on the same Wireless network.

QuestionWill this work from my PC to TV with just regular Hulu (free shows)?I use Hulu to catch shows my recorder messed up on or a local news bulliten interrupted but it is the items that are free. also from the major networks (ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS). If I pull up the show on my computer will it go to my wireless Vizio so the whole family can watch it on the TV even though it is playing on the computer? Thank you in advance for your input, Cindy

- Answer No. Hulu would need to be an application on the Apple TV device. You won't be able to stream from the Hulu app on the pc to Apple TV because the Hulu interface doesn't have the option button (like iTunes does) to choose a device to stream to.

- Answer Are the three RCA plug-ins you speak of the red, blue and green ones? You would need to acquire an intelligent converter to change the HDMI digital info to the RGB or "component video". This is necessary as certain synchronizing signals don't get passed if one were to try and make a passive cable to do this. You would also need to add an optical cable to carry the sound (double ended HDMI cables carry sound and video) to your TV or separate sound system. I have Googled for something like this in the past, such "black boxes" were more than $300 back then. Are the three RCA plug-ins you speak of the yellow, red and white ones? This would need a much more sophisticated converter device (If one exists) than the one mentioned above for this "composite video" system and sound inputs. Furthermore, HDMI is all digital and the composite system (including sound) is all analog. Such a device may exist but I would think the cost alone would put you in the market for a newer TV.

- Answer I have experienced this as well. Your Apple TV allows you to begin watching a movie with only a few percent downloaded. If your internet connection is lagging, you are actually watching the movie faster than you can receive it from the server. There are several help tips for this on the Apple support website which include a reset of the Apple TV system. If I am having a slow server response from the internet on my laptop, I know watching Apple TV may be frustrating with the stop/wait/catch-up that occurs. Other than looking for a more consistent internet provider, I don't believe there is a permanent fix for this issue.

- Answer No. But you can stream many apps from an iPhone or iPod touch to your Apple TV using Airplay, which is a new feature of IOS 4.2. For something like Pandora, that would mean just the audio - no album art or anything like that.

- Answer I have DirecTV as well. I am a huge TV lover, but I am considering relying on Apple TV to fulfill my needs. DirecTV is a huge waste of money comapred to this device. I utilize Netflix to watch my TV shows and movies. You could probably get a free week or month of Netflix if you go to their site. If you go to "Instant Viewing" in Netflix, it will tell you what movies and shows are available to you. There are literally thousands of things to watch. I honestly am considering cancelling my DirecTV service. That's how much I love my new Apple TV.

- Answer Yes the only requirement is that iTunes is running if you want to access content on your computer. Otherwise the Apple TV is completely independent and does not need any computer.
