• You do not have to have a computer to watch Apple TV, however you must have an internet connection, a wireless modem and router for the system to work. All set up and interaction can occur on your TV screen.

• Strongly recommended. The primary movie/music sources for this are: your computer, Apple's internet rental store, and Netflix paid streaming service. You don't have to connect the device directly to a computer, but you do need accounts on the latter two to really make it work well.

• I have never used the AppleTV with a computer - only my iPhone. And an iPhone is not needed either. All you need is a wireless router, broadband internet connection, an HDMI cable and a TV with an HDMI input.
