You do Not have to have a Cellular plan with it. The same way if you have cellphone and just use Wi-Fi and don't have a Cellular plan.

Now you can buy the iWatch without the built-in cellular. I personally like the fact that the cost is only ten dollars more a month and that you can make phone calls without your phone. You can also listen to iTunes if you would like on the watch. The watch's decency is slight with the phone but only for certain features.
