No contract or monthly $10 fee required for the non-cellular version of the watch. You can link it to your iPhone. If you have the GPS+Cellular version, and want to be able to make and answer calls while away from your iPhone, then you would need to sign up for Service and pay $10 monthly. You will share the same phone number as your iPhone. But you will be able to just leave your iPhone behind if you wish.

Approximately $13 per month after all the taxes and fees, The watch will use the same phone number as your phone.
