A:Answerthis unit needs a window or open access exhaust vent for the outside. its very simple to install. the instruction manual says to install it horizontal. i preferred to install it vertically. i used packaging tape tp temporarily hold the panel so i can easily remove it if i to install it in another place. this unit cools down a 500 sq ft room easily. just open the air vent halfway. you can feel the cold air 5 to 6 ft away. the internal bucket is inside. when the bucket is full, attach the supplied plastic hose at the lower part of the drain to drain in a plastic/aluminum pan. by the way bestbuy will price match home depot lower price. i bought three of these ac units. for upstairs and downstairs
