Any arlo chime will work or you can hook it up to your existing doorbell. It also calls your mobile phone when someone rings the doorbell.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not have a chime. I do have the Arlo 2 camera system. Do I need to purchase a chime? No, you don't *need* a chime for this to work. You can set it up to work a tradition "mechanical" chime, which is the normal wired doorbell that most houses have. That is how mine is hooked up. When someone rings the doorbell, it rings through my normal doorbell, and then the Arlo doorbell also calls my cell phone and lets me talk to the person at the door (through the doorbell). Additionally, I linked the doorbell with my camera that watches the front door can it automatically shows me the video from that camera. Interestingly, and maybe this addresses your question more directly, it seems like if you connect your audio doorbell to your existing, mechanical doorbell, you cannot trigger the separate chime on the ringing of the doorbell. At least, I haven't been able to. You can, however, trigger the chime on audio/motion of any of your cameras or the doorbell itself. So, we've set up our chime to ring on motion at the front door, which is like an early warning before someone rings the doorbell. I hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the Arlo Chime but wish I bought the Ring because The Arlo Chime does not have a Camera. The Ring does so Had to buy another Camera.
