• I purchased recently and replaced an existing doorbell... It functions with batteries and can be connected to the old wiring. Connects to the base station and can be paired with a camera. In my case an Arlo 2.

• Yes, it can be wireless, works both ways. Will work wireless or attach with wires to your existing doorbell chime. Don't know if it will work on Arlo 4, mine are a little older model, but have not issues.
