The base station and cameras do not need to be "line of sight", in fact, I think the cameras connect better than WiFi cameras when there are obstacles between the cameras and base station. Of course, it is always good to have less obstruction and closer proximity, but these do well in a home with wood frame construction.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a 2 story house with detached garage. I have 5 cameras on different floors and one 50ft away in garage. No problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The base station is to be connected inside your home near your wireless router/modem. And no you do not need a computer on to record to the cloud. It records in increments automatically based on motion
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. I have 8 cams, 4 inside, 4 outside, one 100 ft from my house. Base station is inside and camera transmits a full signal strength to base station which is inside my house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The base does not have to be outside. You do not need a computer if you use the smart phone app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The base has to be plugged into a port on your router. No line of sight needed. I don't remember the distances but over a hundred feet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We live in a pretty standard two story house. My base is upstairs. I have moved the cameras to different location (inside and outside) and from one side of the house to the other and had no problems getting feed to the base. The only time you need line of sight, I believe, is when you are linking the base and camera to each other initially. After that you can move the cameras all over the place. I also run my wireless all the time but my pc is also on almost all the time but I don't see why you would need it in as long as the internet is connected.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For the Arlo system, no, the base can be inside up to 300 ft away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as your wifi range reaches the garage the cameras will work fine. I used a longer Ethernet cable from my wifi router to the Arlo base unit. That extended the range of the unit so I could use the cameras pretty far outside the house. Your recordings go to the Arlo cloud so there is no need for a computer to save the videos. The nice thing is you can save the videos from the cloud to a computer or smartphone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Line of sight is not an issue, as long as it is in range of the receiver it will work fine. My farthest camera is about 100 ft from receiver and it works great.
