• A:Answer This new base is very basic as it really only connects the cameras for viewing, there is no local storage or the siren on this base.

• A:Answer Arlo Pro 2 uses its own base station that connects by Ethernet cable to your WiFi. Mounting the camera is easy. The cameras connect wirelessly to the base station. Camera image is pretty good, but, range from the base station is not great- maybe 30 feet max for a good connection. Get the Arlo app for your phone, the user interface is fine for basic functions- activate live view, review recordings and arm camera for motion detection. You have to pay for more features like longer recordings, cloud storage, motion detection area, etc. Battery life hasn’t been determined yet- I’ve only had it up for a week and a half and the battery is still good.
