  • Question1Can these sit freely on a windowsill that is screened in?2What distance from the camera does it record?3With the 7 days of free storage, do we have the option of saving a video if needed?4can i access the footage internationally bc of travel?

    Asked by Mi.

    • Answer I have one inside a screened patio facing the door so I can see if an intruder comes in but I have noticed that I can walk around outside the screened patio and it doesn't pick me up. So, you can sit these cameras inside a window or inside a screen and view "live" but it will not send you notifications and if it doesn't send you notifications, it means it did not record anything to the cloud. If you have footage in your library, that is what they consider the cloud. From a desktop computer I have been able to save my video clips and if I have taken a snap shot of something while watching live, I copy the image and drop it into a blank Word document and save that. I have found the camera records about 12 feet in front of it and that the areas along the perimeter of the screen that you can see, ie the street at the end of your driveway, it does not record the cars driving by. It gives a good amount of coverage within the middle section of what you see on screen. There is a delay in it recording, sometimes just a few seconds, sometimes up to 10 seconds, so I get the person up close rather than when they've pulled into my driveway. But I am happy with the cameras reliability for the most part. As far as your last question, I don't know about international access.

  • QuestionDoes this run on batteries? The location I have is remote, no electricity. How do I make this work

    Asked by Lars.

    • Answer The cameras do run on batteries and can go months between needing to be charged. Be aware that the camera does communicate via WiFi to the Arlo Base Station so the camera and base station need to be close enough to each other that the WiFi signal can be sent and received. I have 1 camera that is about 50 feet and 3 walls away from the base station and it still works fine.
