I only access with my data on cell phone if I get a text message stating it grabbed activity. If you are out and about and using it indoors and want to check on your dog real quick it shouldn't eat too much data if you are not using the live feed too long. The cameras you can set up to record a certain amount of time when it sees motion. Mine is set at 40 seconds right now so it doesn't use that much. It stores the videos on their site and you have the option to download if you want or just delete them. It is a pretty nice little camera set up. Do you have a router at home?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The system has to upload what ever it records to the cloud. It will use up some data, but not a lot. Set your cameras for motion detection only so that they are not recording all the time. While viewing the recordings on computer or device, yes it will eat into your data plan like any other video you watch. Unless if your connected to some other internet that is unlimited.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The camera only eats into my data plan when you are receiving images over your network (ie. 3G). I have limited data as well and make sure I'm connected to Wi-Fi before accessing the Arlo app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use very little data. I think the camera turns on when I long in. I also record when we have more cars in the neigborhood than usual.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You're last statement is correct. There is a setting to change (reduce) video quality so when it does detect and record video it will use less battery and thus less data. Recording time can be adjusted between 0 and 120 seconds also. FYI - I love the Arlo. I should have a review posted on Best Buy's website soon.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This comes with 1GB cloud space - connect it to your wi-fi box & it records motion & records over the oldest (a week's worth of 10 second clips) on it's own cloud.
