• No. You don't, you just plug it into the wall and call your internet provider and they will connect you. It is so simple its awesome!

• No. I used my iPad and followed the instructions. Easy setup. Too bad it wasn’t a very good product. I would not recommend you buy it. Try a netgear or Motorola instead.
