• It depends on the speed you are increasing to. Also, if adding phone service, it has to be some special AC Modem.

• I don't have charter but I do have Time Warner Cable. The cable comes from the wall hooks into the modem and the. To the tv. This also is a wifi device too for you cell phones and laptops.
