• I am not famkliar with Optimim but it seems to be TV over Wi Fi. If what you want is IPTV, then any internet service you hire from a major provider (like Comcast), should give you access. The Arris Surfboard 6900 is a cable modem and a router in one box. It works great. You can use it with Comcast. You can service any Wi Fi capable equipment, but the speed you buy will be crucial. The more, the better.

• This is a CABLE modem and Wi-Fi router in one. As for your first question for Optimum capabilities...I don't know what that is.

• I don't know about Optimum compatibility, but this device is a combination cable MODEM, router and WiFi access point.

• I am not sure about Optimum. My service provider is Comcast/xfinity. It is very fast and was easy to setup.
