The main question is, is your internet coming in from a cable? This device is used expressly for conversion of an internet signal coming in through a coaxial cable provider (usually Comcast or Time Warner), and converting it into a WAN signal piped out via a WAN port in the back. From there, you can connect it directly to a computer, or wireless router. This particular device will handle heavy traffic, but how much can your router handle?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Really depends on what BRIGHTHOUSE will support. Get in touch with them and find out what version of the DOCSIS specification they currently support. This modem will support version 2 and 3. So, if your ISP will support DOCSIS v2.0 or 3.0 this modem/router/WiFi access point will work for you. IT may NOT support your telephone, if the phone has its own modem. If your current service has two separate devices, this device will only support internet activities; web browsing/TV/file downloads/uploads, etc. It will support Voice over IP [VoIP] telephone services like SKYPE. Some service providers like Comcast have a separate modem for the VoIP telephone service that they provide. So, check with your provider before you buy this - expecting that it will cover everything.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That modem will work. It doesn't have a router, so you would need to provide that. Or you could use the motorola SBG 6580 (I think that's it).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use this one with Bright House and it works great. I just had to call them to hook up the modem to my account.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I recommend linksys as a better brand name known for dependancy and life time. Just be sure to ask brighthouse if you need a cable modem or DSL modem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.get a simple cable modem, and bridge it to a powerful router. your router is what intelligently allocates internet to your devices. the modem simply allows you to bring internet into your home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have Ooma for my phone, Directv with on-demand and I run several internet servers (web & email) with this modem. All ports are open, not sure what you are asking? Your internet provider has control of what ports they will open for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on your ISP and the network protocol that they use: DSL, cable modem, Fiber, etc. If you're planning to buy a cable modem then look for cable ISP. If DSL, buy a DSL modem and for Fiber, it should be free of charge from the ISP unlike cable modem or DSL where you pay $5 - $10 per month.
