This modem will handle anything you throw at it. It connects from your computer or router with an ethernet cable and to your cable line on the other side with coax, usually provided by the cable company. There is not a separate input for your phone to connect like on the comcast combination router/phone/modem. This just does data, not phone.

No, this modem does not have VOip.
