Some of your smaller electronic companies will carry these things. I saw one that the cable goes to and another cable goes out and was a flip switch in between. This was in Mesa, AZ Actually, I have mine on a power strip with the computer and just shut it off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most Linksys work well
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Adding a switch to disconnect you from the internet isn't going to do you much good if you network your equipment. You'll still need a gateway and a router to send out address along the switch you plan to put in place. I would advise on the cheap side if you want to unplug a Linksys router (with Wi-Fi) and a netgear switch (pending on how many wired devices you have) Stick with gigabit for your speeds and you can disconnect whenever you want and not worry about your devices not talking to each other.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can unplug the wire going out (looks like an oversized phone cable) to disconnect from the internet without losing your connection to the cable company. If you turn this modem off, you will have to wait for it to "re-login" to the cable company switch/computer every time you want to turn it back on. Since this is separate from a router, if you unplug the wire going out, there is no wireless connection or anything else to connect you to the internet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would not turn this on and off repeatedly, it's not good for your device. There's a reason why they don't have a switch in the first place. (Electronic and thermodynamic reasons) But if you want to disable internet at certain times, I would buy a router that you can edit time tables that allow for you to turn on and off the Internet by software and not hardware. Or just unplug the Ethernet cable. Not that much more work than a switch. I would recommend the software fix however.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe it's the SBG 6580
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All you need do is pull the power adapter out of the modem. I would prefer an on/off switch myself but there is not one so I just unplug it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This model doesn't have a switch. You could get an electrical plugin switch at a hardware store cheaply if you want a manual switch. Or you could also get a cheap timer to cut the power to the modem at specified times of the day.
