Thank you Surfboard Community for your prompt response to my earlier question about the RESPONSIBILITY for pushing Firmware Updates into an Arris G34 Combination Modem Router. Unfortunately, 2 different support techs at my ISP (Spectrum) disagree. They say it is the owner's (my) responsibility to somehow become aware of a new Firmware update, obtain that update, and load it into my device. Can you advise on how I can resolve ?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your interest in purchasing the G34. We do not have an ETA to discontinue firmware updates since it is not a discontinued product. DOCSIS standards dictate that the service provider must distribute firmware updates to cable modem devices. The end-user cannot simply install an update like most other network-enabled devices.
