  • QuestionDO NOT BUY THIS. Arris has reported that customers who use Xfinity are experiencing constant interruptions including myself. Their website says they are aware of the problem. It's been almost a year and the issue still persists.

    Asked by InternetDrops.

    • Answer By default the lease time is 1 day. Each day, you will see a small hiccup while your internal IP# is dropped and reassigned. All modems have a lease time. Set it to a high value. Some modems, like this G34/G36 have a "forever" setting to which is will never renew the lease. I can not speak for Infinity but I've had no issues with this modem. I suspect you might be confusing Infinity "constant interruptions" for the default 1 hour default lease time which would result in a small hiccup every hour. Just change it to a higher/forever value!

  • QuestionWhat size home coverage?

    Asked by wil.

    • Answer There are many things that can interfere with a home's Wi-Fi such as how many devices are on the network, the amount of bandwidth that they require, interference from household items like microwave ovens or other Wi-Fi devices. So, while we can't say exactly how far the signal will reach, it should be able to cover homes up to about 2,500 sq. ft.

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer The G34 cable modem features DOCSIS 3.1 technology, supporting download speeds of up to 1 Gbps—making it suitable for most modern home internet plans. It includes a built-in AX3000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), which delivers faster speeds, extended range, and improved performance in high-density environments. The AX3000 rating indicates a theoretical combined wireless throughput of up to 3 Gbps. However, actual speeds will vary based on your devices, network configuration, and environmental conditions.
