QuestionIs this item similar to Motorola MB7621? The Xfinity customer rep suggested this and I found out later on that there are equipments that are priced more economically than this Arris G36. What makes it better than the other less expensive brands?

- Answer Hello - it might be best to use the "Compare" feature on the site to do a side-by-side comparison. A quick comparison will show that the G36 is the newest technology - DOCSIS 3.1 modem, and Wi-Fi 6 router. Only DOCSIS 3.1 modems can achieve Gigabit speeds so if you subscribe to Gigabit speed plans, the older DOCSIS 3.0 modems won't achieve those speeds (the Motorola MB7621 is DOCSIS 3.0 and Wi-Fi 5). It really comes down to what speeds you subscribe to and how to get the most out of those speeds. Hope this helps.

- Answer Dear user, This is a DOCSIS cable gateway and only works with DOCSIS cable providers. It does not support fiber service. Please contact Verizon support for more information on compatible devices.

- Answer The 2.5 speed port is a faster port then the 1 gig. Should you subscribe to comcast's gigbit plan that gives you 1.2GBPS, this 2.5 port hard wired into another 2.5 gbps on a computer will give you the full speeds of paid service.
