Yes. You just plug it into the WAN port on the router.

Depending on your internet speed at the modem, you may need to consider upgrading routers to get the most benefit of speed. I am currently using the Orbi system with this router. I am paying for 500mb with Cox and consistently getting 580+ mb. So the combination of this 3.1 router plus the Orbi mesh router is very good.
