• This is a dumb modem. Your router will get a WAN address from the service provider. There are no mgmt ports

• Unless you have an ISP playing dumb games (and they can) you own the IP you are issued and all its ports. Your router can make use of it however you need. Unless your ISP is awesome you only get one, so you need a router, a switch will only work for the first thing you connect.
