This modem works fine with Spectrum. You just need to call Spectrum to have the equipment registered and initiated.

Yes, it works with Spectrum. You can swap it out yourself but you need to call Spectrum to have them register the device (mac address) to make it work. This is a hit or miss event depending on who you get on the other end plus the complexity of your own set-up. Otherwise, usually is not a lot of trouble.

Yes, however I had to keep the Spectrum modem also because it is used by Spectrum to operate your phone system.
