This is a cable modem you will need a separate router. There are combined modem and router but I don't like this since if modem or router go bad you are having to replace both. To use this modem you connect the Spectrum or Xfinity cable to it and then use a ethernet cable to connect it to a router which broadcasts a WiFi signal.

You will need a Wi-Fi router to broadcast Wi-Fi signal for your wireless connection. Please check with Xfinity if they allow the SB8200 with your Cable Internet plan.
