“Replaced a SB8200 with another SB8200. Using Xfinity at about 550 Mbps download speed. My old SB8200 showed that it was in DOCSIS 3.1 mode (blue light). The new one shows DOCSIS 3.0 mode (green light). Neither ARRIS or Xfinity can explain the change.”

the blue light just presents that the connection is "bonded" i believe when i had xfinity, i would get 2 bonded light indicators for both up and download connections. now with optimum, i just get the bonded light for download only. from experience, it sounds like something on the xfinity side. if it did it once before, then something on their side has changed and they either arent saying or dont know truly. hope this helps.
