I'm above average with modem and router knowledge and I walked into Best Buy and asked them what their opinion was without telling that I knew anything at all about the products. What I found is the consultants at Best Buy are VERY knowledgeable (they are an authorized retailer for Cox) and fair (won't try to up sell you) with what equipment works with my internet provider (Cox). If Best Buy is an authorized seller for your provider, I would just recommend getting their opinion. BTW - my 8200 stopped working after 10 weeks and Arris won't do anything. So while Arris has a good reputation, I would steer clear of this modem and advise taking it back if still within the return window just in case.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Will it depends on a lot of things like what speed you are getting, the size of your house, usage type, and .... If you want mesh system I would recommend eero. If you want a stand alone router I would recommend Asus. If you have a gigabyte speed either go with Arris Surfboard Max Pro mesh wi-fi system or ASUS ROG GT-AX11000 Tri-Band. Hope these helps

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Mike, The choice of the router would depend upon the speed tier that you have subscribed to, area of your house and other networking parameters. But if you are looking for a mesh system that would provide you whole home coverage with blazing fast speeds, you can opt for the SURFboard mAX Pro mesh Wi-Fi system which is truly suitable for gigabit plans and go well along with the SB8200, also you can also take advantage of the link aggregation control that SB8200 supports.
