This or any modem will connect the internet directly to your computer, ROKU box etc., via ethernet cable. No router is needed. A router is needed for WIFI, for a phone, laptop, tablet etc., or to connect a ROKU box wirelessly.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It has 2 ethernet connections so if you are only connecting 2 devices hardwired you don't. But if you want more or need wifi (which I assume you do) you will need a separate router.
