This or any modem will connect the internet directly to your computer, ROKU box etc., via ethernet cable. No router is needed. A router is needed for WIFI, for a phone, laptop, tablet etc., or to connect a ROKU box wirelessly.

This is a cable internet service modem. It provides 2 wired ports, but does not produce a WiFi network. A separate router would be needed for that.

You need a router as well, this particular model is only a modem that connects to your ISP. From there you need to connect it to your router.

Yes, you need a router. Ask Cox tech support for help or ask for person at Best Buy in the dept where the modems & routers are displayed. The employees & Geek Squad have been extremely helpful to us.

It has 2 ethernet connections so if you are only connecting 2 devices hardwired you don't. But if you want more or need wifi (which I assume you do) you will need a separate router.
