Chromebooks are not natively compatible with iPhones, you may have to use a cloud storage like Google Drive to transfer photos.

I can connect my iphone to the chromebook using the lightening cable and then select allow on the phone. I can then either upload photos to the google cloud or save to the micro sd slot.
