“Why is the trackpad centered with the entire keyboard including the numberpad? Most trackpads are off to the left when there is a numberpad so it is centered with the keyboard area for typing. Curious if anyone thinks that is uncomfortable when typing?”

I haven't found it to be an issue. There is an option to turn the track pad off via keyboard shortcut so you don't hit it while typing.
