I absolutely love this computer, but the 4K display definitely takes its toll on the battery. If you run the computer one tick up from the "best battery life" setting (clicking on the battery icon on the toolbar), you can get about 6-7 hours of internet browsing, writing, reading, etc. with no noticeable drop in performance. If you are going to be running any programs that use significant CPU or GPU performance, expect the battery life to be MUCH lower (like, 1 hour if you're playing Minecraft on fancy settings). In that instance, plugging it in will be necessary. Otherwise, the 4K display makes reading and writing such a breeze, and ~6 hours of battery life hasn't bothered me. Hope that helps!

Please try again later. Can watch YouTube videos continously for well over 7 hours at 4k screen resolution; 100% brightness; Wifi, Bluetooth, and batterysaver on; and power mode on balance-highest performance. And over 11 hrs with screen resolution at 1080p; 40% brightness; Wifi, Bluetooth, and batterysaver on; power mode on balance-extreme battery efficiency.
