Yes, I added a 16gb 3200Mhz stick of ram and it ran fine with the existing 8 gb stick of ram. Obviously it won't run dual channel. But you have access to 24gb which is plenty to run games on high settings. I ultimately ended up replacing the original 8gb stick with a second 16 gb stick. I can run anything on it.
