“Since this model only comes with a disappointing 60hz panel, how hard is it to get ahold of the 144hz panel and swap it out? Is this feasible, assuming a person already has the skill required to perform the replacement?”

It's fairly hard to get a replacement panel and is highly not recommended. The other solution I would recommend is to connect your laptop to an external monitor.
