“I would like to upgrade the ssd from 500gb to 1tb of ssd storage. Is this a upgrade I could do myself or do I have to send it to ASUS to have it upgraded if I don’t want my warranty voided.”

You can do it yourself. The plastic casing near the ports can easily be broken when taking the lower cover off, so make sure you are using a proper computer/cell phone pry tool. Don't use a screw driver or butter knife. However, once the case is open, it's easy to get to all the components. I replaced the ram with 2 16gb sticks of ram, added a second 512 gb ssd, and added a 2TB hhd. It probably took me about 30 minutes. Just watch a breakdown YouTube video to see where everything goes.
