I know nothing about the "elgato gaming capture card", but I would definitely recommend a laptop with a lot more horsepower - faster CPU, more RAM, etc.... All I know about any "capturing" is that it is very demanding on a system. You are playing and capturing a game at the same time. But like I said I am not familiar with that card, but I do use several different programs to do some mild capturing. I bought the laptop in question for my Wife, who does not play any high-action games. I know that this is not what you asked, but I would recommend a stronger system for what you want to do.
