Really great gift for my 13 year old granddaughter

My granddaughter was sharing the laptop that I got for both the girls a couple of years ago at Best Buy so I surprised her with a new ASUS laptop of her own. Now they both have one. I will never forget the priceless look on her face when she saw her new laptop. It is really a great computer. Better than the one I have for sure. Lots of memory, very fast and it included security software. It was on sale which was a factor that helped but her Mother has an ASUS and she loves it. My granddaughter does her homework and also plays Minecraft in her spare time which is not often with all the homework they have to do. She just did a research ;project on dogs and used her new laptop. She does not have to share with her sister anymore. She has a I-Pad from school but prefers the laptop for her research projects. It is a great computer and a great gift. I buy all my electronics at Best Buy and like their payment plan and the quality and prices of the electronics.

This is the best PC you will ever get for the price you would think it is not a fast running, multitasking, secure PC but your wrong this does everything I need to do daily and fast too. Easy to take on the go and easy to use wifi anywhere available. Never had a all in one PC this awesome. Anyone needing emails, shopping, paying bills, surfing the web can do it all with this one PC and it doesn't cost a fortune.

I only knew ASUS for their hardware parts, and so when I saw a laptop, I was a bit skeptical, so I did some research and this seemed like a worth while risk. For the price, it seems of good quality and decent power. The charge is estimated to last for about 2 hours, but mine's gone on a bit more. I don't know how fast programs and apps load compared to other products out there, but I'm satisfied with this. I'm a professor and a writer, and I really just need a functional PC for writing and lesson plans when I am not at home. This is perfect for that function. I also have a couple big games like The Witcher on here and it loads with no problem. The only issue that I could for see is the surface of the keyboard, which feels very week or maybe I"m just used to the plastic on my old Macbook. Another slight issue is the track-pad, which is uber sensitive and often I find myself unintentionally zooming in and out of screens, but it's not a deal breaker. All and all, this item is worth it's cost and is a great option compared to Lenovo and Acer (which I've had problems with right away).

We got this laptop as a gift for my girlfriends mother as her very old Macbook was on it's way out. She needed something for paying bills, going on Facebook, general internet browsing, and some office work. We got this on black friday for $259.99, a good price, but what really drew us to buying this laptop over the others was the i3 processor, and the 4GB of memory. Its exactly what is needed for her. Has a decent webcam which we use to Skype, and it handles that as well. Only gave 4/5 stars because sometimes the track pad is a bit off with the scrolling, and it came with a bunch of junk software that it took me an hour or 2 to remove it all.

I bought this laptop for school use. I didn't purchase microsoft office but i do have the office viewer for power point, excel, word. So far the battery life is great, running longer than 4 hours on power save mode. I went with Asus over the comparable HP version for the slightly lower price and my bias towards Asus. I've had a HP laptop (around $1100) before that needed repair twice in 4 years before it completely died on me. Pros: -battery life -fast: browser, startup and programs -affordable Cons: -the color display is weak -keyboard feels a little bit flimsy Side note. I can run League of Legends fairly well on low settings.

I got this Asus laptop for $300 and absolutely love it. I record a podcast and this laptop allows me to be more mobile. The 1TB hard drive is more than most will ever need and the speed of switching through programs and tabs is fast. For a "budget" laptop it certainly performs well above what my initial thoughts were.

To start off this laptop is very cheap for what it's packing inside, I'm a computer guy and this laptop has 1 terabyte of hard drive storage a excellent I3 processor and a decent 4Gb of ram, this light laptop allowed my wife to play sims3 perfectly fine and allowed me to browse the internet with no problem, Worth the money if you ask me. A++++

First off there are not any manuals at all which is not uncommon but when the initial setup fails out of the box you are left on your own. I was able to get by that but there are not any indicator lights for caps lock or num lock which is annoying. The touchpad can be difficult it is easy to touch with both hands and if you are right handed when you go to click with your left hand the mouse pointer kept moving off of the target. Other than the indicator lights the rest was pretty easy to overcome you just have to get used to the mouse. It is extremely lightweight which was nice. All in all about what you would expect for what you pay for this laptop.

This is my first time buying Asus laptop and I'm pleased with it. For the money this is great laptop, enough memory and 1 TB of storage mate are plenty for what I need it for. Very happy with the purchase.

My daughter was given this for Christmas she's used it for a lot of gaming with no lag or issues at this point. The image on the screen is very crisp and she's enjoying it a lot. It is a bit heavy but for our money it offered what she needed. The salesman was very helpful and honest with us and we saved a lot of potential trouble by not buying a smaller lighter computer that was a bit more expensive and would not have supported gaming as well.

Needed a new laptop with a VGA port, which is becoming hard to find (no longer offered with Dell or HP). Couldn't decide between this Asus and a comparably spec'd Lenovo. The smaller size and design of the Asus won me over. Only complaint so far is the 5400 RPM hard drive which is a little noisy compared to the dead silent 7200 RPM that was in my old Lenovo. But for the price ($299 on sale), a laptop with these specs is hard to beat. Been reading reviews about the difficulty in upgrading memory, but seems to run pretty fast the way it is.

For the price this is a really solid laptop. I have used it for basic web apps, MS Office and even some fairly intense scientific scripts in Python. Pros: Loads and starts quickly. Lightweight for the screen size. Windows 10 is much nicer than 7 or 8 Cons: Track pad is a little insensitive speakers leave a bit to be desired

I am very pleased with this laptop. It is faster and easier to used than my older Toshiba. I like the way the keys are separated. I will purchase a mouse/trackball soon as I don't like touchpads. The price was okay but as anyone I would have preferred to a lower price. I like that it has 1TB of memory and 4GB of RAM.

Disclaimer: Purchased on sale for $279 at Best Buy You likely won't find a better value under $300 for a laptop. Features in this price range are better than most laptops! Fairly light, with an Core i3 processor, which is a standout for the price. If you are looking for a performance laptop, you will spend more. If you need a word processing, web surfing, and light media playback machine, you can't do better in this price range. Not too much "bloatware" either. What's also nice is that the power brick is built into the AC plug, and is significantly smaller than other laptops. This makes carrying "everything" very nice. The machine is also light for a 15.6 size laptop with an optical drive. Yes, it still has a CD/DVD tray which is getting rare (although that was not necessary for our purchase, it's still nice to have for some users. I still burn media.) Final disclaimer- I've got a much more powerful laptop so no need for a road warrior machine.
