It depends on what your are running. For MS Office, web surfing and the like, no you will probably not notice much if any difference. If you are doing any gaming or graphics, you WILL notice a difference, but the i3 on this machine only runs at 1.8ghz. I bought the i3 over the celeron and have been pleased with the performance for the $100 difference.

Not a lot faster then the J1800 (the typical celeron in this price range) in startup, but anything more math intensive like spreadsheets or games it will be. And since the i3 includes the build in HD4000 chipset graphics processor graphics will be a LOT faster at graphics the the entire Celeron series.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, but in the case of this laptop it you'll still be disappointed. Get nothing less than an i5 with a minimum of 6 gig. Windows 8 is more demanding than say XP and it will run poorly.
