• According to the spec sheet it is Thunderbolt 3.

• I can confirm it IS Thunderbolt 3 with usb type c. So full (theoretical) data transfer speeds of up to 40Gbits/s. Using a thunderbolt raid enclosure I was able to hit 2.5gbits/s (the max of the 5 ssd's in the enclosure).
