For a complex model, the redraw time of the I5 is slow, when compared with an I7-4790K running overclocked at 4.1G and 16 G of 2100 MHz ram plus a fast video card or two. On a test, I can go to the kitchen and make a cup of instant and get back to the I7 as it fills in the display. The same 3D model with an I5 allows me to put water, a filter and ground coffee, fill the coffee maker with water and make a two cups, then drink half a cup before the I5 fills in the display. With a 19" 1080 display, CAD is like going to a circus while wearing a diving mask. Lots of panning and enlargement to read the dimensions and notes.
