• You asked the correct questions, therefore you know the correct answers. Yes and yes. ... But if you are careful you don't need to. Do an internet search try to find a repair guide, then the battery connection will be easy. Stay away from wool and cats! Good luck.

• Anytime you are changing a component inside of a computer you should make sure it is unplugged and in the case of laptops the battery removed.
