Battery life on a laptop should be about 3 years or so before it starts losing significant capacity. At that point, the warranty will be long-expired, and you can safely either change the battery yourself or send it back to Asus for a replacement, just as diehard Apple laptop users do with their machines (they keep them for years and send them to Apple for battery replacement).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have ask and answered your question all at the same time. You have it correct since they put in this super duper battery that may last 5 years??? after that it automatically defaults to a desk top.............
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any battery can be replaced, it is just that sometimes the difficulty is finding a place to buy that replacement but usually the manufacturer can get them for a few years. I would think what they meant was, that it is not meant to be user swappable, changed out on command with another fresh charged battery. That part is correct. It can only be torn apart and changed out when it fails and needs replaced, not on a daily basis. I don't think they would make any sort of "upgraded" battery, just the model that it comes with.
